The iconic monologue by Loula Anagnostakis, directed and
dramaturgical adaptation by Eleni Parginou, comes to the Studio of
Municipal Theatre of Corfu on 19 & 20 April 2024.
The famous anti-heroine of Lula Anagnostaki meets a modern version of her. Η
Eleni Parginou "dives" into the story of the protagonist, Sophia Apostolou, and
comes to life on stage with her own eyes.
The performance draws inspiration from the literary universe of Loula Anagnostakis and
with the use of new media tells the story of Sophia Apostolou, the heroine of
of the play of the same name, which masterfully balances the author's libidinal dipoles.
Sophia Apostolou seems to articulate between the collective and the personal, the
private and public, expectation and despair, between a past and a future, between the
a present, a continuous in-out where one affects the essence of the other. A
person-symbol of a personal/collective wound trying to find the
its sequence in an unclear today.

Director's Note:
In the play Sky Red we meet one of the (anti-)heroines of
Loula Anagnostakis, Sophia Apostolou. In the story of the heroine we recognize
personal frustration and collective denial. Rejecting a world,
who has been the first to reject it, Sophia Apostolou through the history of social
her son's deviation, she raises the flag of an errant who puts himself
outside of the "healthy" and "good-hearted" society. In this "outside", the heroine will
recognize its own nature, its own "tendency towards evil" and this "outside" will
finally become the voice of its own revolution. The heroine's mnemonic process, in
our performance, acquires the function of a broken mirror that reflects the
inverted and fragmented its own history.
