The theatre "Metaxourgeio" has this year the pleasure to present for 3rd year after the huge success of the last two theatre seasons, the children's musical theatre performance "Ririka's Birthday". Now for a one and only performance in Corfu!

The performance is based on the children's book of the same name by Maria Kilaidoni, published by Pataki Publications illustrated by Fotini Tikkou and, apart from the wonderful fairy tale, includes songs with her lyrics and music, which are released by Minos EMI and have already been loved by young and old alike.

On stage, Maria Kilaidoni, Alexandros Lykouras and Dean O' Selly perform the roles of the fairy tale and play live music (guitar, piano, accordion and melodica) "introducing" Ririka and her friends through a musical theatre journey full of fantasy and humour!

A few words about the story

Today is the birthday of Ririka the bear! But this year is the first year she will celebrate alone since she recently moved to another mountain, away from her family to live on her own. For to cheer her up she thought she'd go downtown to eat her favorite pistachio ice cream from the best ice cream shop in the world! On the way, Ririka meets one of her best friends: Pi and Ro, the two twins hedgehogs who make wonderful fireworks, Dionysis the crocodile, the excellent confectioner, Tito and Leah, the two lions, the awesome musicians and Charlie the kangaroo, the amazing dancer. When the friends arrive at the ice cream shop and find it closed, they are called upon to save the day!

A story that tells children in a simple way about the huge value of friendship and teaches us that for all problems there is a solution!

At the end of 2018 I became a mother for the first time, to my first son, Lucian. Less than two years later my second son, Panagiotis, "came". Motherhood inspired me deeply. After the birth of my two sons, the first songs I wrote were spontaneously childish. To keep them from being "orphaned," I dressed them with a story that became a book and then a play. Thus was born "Ririka's Birthday", which we are presenting this year for the 3rd year after the great success of the previous two years . At the heart of the show is friendship - a hymn to the friends who make our lives more beautiful and stronger.
