Religious Music Concert (San Giacomo)

Η Symphony Orchestra of the Ionian Islands, in cooperation with the Municipal Choir of Corfu "San Giacomo", invite you to the established religious music concert, η
which will be held on Wednesday at 21:00 at the Municipal Theatre of Corfu.

The first part of the concert will open with Samuel Barber's Adagio, arranged by Jamin Hoffman, and will continue with Frédéric Chopin's Marche Funèbre (Sonata No. 2 in B-flat minor) for solo piano, with Marilena Elloul as soloist. This is followed by Lars-Erik Larsson's Concertino for trombone and string orchestra, with soloist Alexis Geoldasis. The works will be conducted by the conductor of the Ionian Islands Symphony Orchestra, Elias Gogidis.

The first part will be completed with ecclesiastical and religious hymns, in collaboration with the Municipal Choir of Corfu and the Camerata, under the direction of
guest Maestro Stamatis Lekka.

In the second part of the concert, the philanthropic audience of Corfu will have the opportunity to enjoy the iconic work Requiem, Op. 48 by Gabriel Fauré, orchestrated by Edgar Girtain, for mixed choir, string orchestra and organ. The work will be performed by Elena Ristova (soprano) and Sotiris Triantis (baritone), conducted by Stamatis Lekkas.
