Tonight's concert -opera gala with arias and asymbols from the classical lyrical repertoire- has taken its name from the educational programme "The Youth of the Opera" in which the soloists of the evening participated at the beginning of their professional careers. "The Youth of the Opera" was an initiative of National Opera of Greece (ELS) with the main objective of offering the opportunity to young artists, who have completed their studies, to take their first professional steps and test themselves in a real working environment, in order to gain significant experience under the guidance and supervision of established artists and professionals. The skills they acquired during their participation in this programme have helped them substantially to become skilled professionals, fully responsive to the modern demands of the Lyric Theatre.
In the opera gala concert with arias and ensembles from the classical lyrical repertoire that has taken its name from the educational programme "The Youth of the Opera" participates the soprano Anna Tselika, the bass-baritone George Papadimitriou, the tenor Christos Delizonas, the soprano Eleni Komni and the pianist Spyros Souladakis.
BIOGRAPHICAL DETAILS
Anna Tselika
Mesophone - born in Thessaloniki where he was born and received diploma in monody (class of Chionati Gina). She continued her studies at Hirnaisad of Sweden with the Jean-Ronal Lafont, where she appeared in roles such as Charlotte (Vertheros), Carmen (Carmen), Sesto (The magnanimity of Titus), Roswice (The Valkyries). He was a member of the Opera Studio of the Greek National Opera (2017/18), playing the role of Dorabella (So do all). More recently it appeared in Kanterstek of Switzerland as Third Lady and Third Boy (The Magic Flute). He or she shall hold degree in French Language and Literature from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, as well as senior theorists (class of Konstantinos Kyriakidis).
George Papadimitriou
Basobarbitone - he began to study piano and higher theoretical at the age of five. Retrieved from diploma in monody with Martha Arapis (2010), being at the same time an extraordinary chorus at ELS and in ERT. Continue reading postgraduate studies at USA (City University of New York, IKY scholarship), where he began his solo career performing, among others, Dr. Cajus (The merry ladies of Windsor) and Dr. Grenvil (Traviata) with the Delaware Valley Opera, as well as Colline (Bohemia) and Figaro (The marriages of Figaro) with Regina Opera. He completed his studies at the Music Academy Würzburg with the Cheryl Studer. The artistic period 2016/17 first sang with National Opera of Reno as a member of the Opera Studio, while from 2018 has performed as a soloist with ELS in the productions Ζ, The princess and the pea, The Sleepwalker, Don Carlo, Europeras, Madama Butterfly, The magic pillows, The Slayer, the Tales of Hoffman, Gianni Schicchi, etc.
Apart from the operatic stage, he has performed in concerts Musical (Christmas & New Year's Gala - Athens Concert Hall) and Above (The Cretan Girl - Olympia Theatre "Maria Callas") with the Athens State Orchestra, the Music Ensembles of ERT & its Municipality of Athens, and has sung under the baton of great conductors such as: Loukas Karytinos, Philippe Auguin, Michalis Economou, Vassilis Christopoulos, Marcellus Chrysicopoulos, Giorgos Petrou, Dionysis Grammenos, etc.
Finally, it is doctoral candidate at Department of Music Studies of NSCA in the field of "acoustics of the voiceless voice".
Christos Delizonas
Tenor - completed his studies by obtaining a diploma monody with George Soutis. He has attended masterclasses and music seminars and singing with Th. Antoniou, M. Loyadi, G. Kouroupos, Dimitris Papadimitriou, Medea Iasonidou, D. Kavrakos, W. Fraccaro, P. Svenson, P. Wedd, V. Chatzisimo, T. Christogiannopoulos, D. Tiliakos, etc. At the beginning of the 2020 in the framework of the programme of E.E. "Opera Out Of Opera" sang in collaboration with Academy of Santa Cecilia of Rome and the Mozarteum Music Academy of Salzburg, in Pamplona and in Salzburg under the direction of tenor Mario Dias and conductor Michelangelo Galeatti. From the 2008 cooperates with the National Lyric Opera having made cover famous tenors in leading roles such as MANRICO (IL TROVATORE - Walter Fraccaro - Herodesion 2017) and ALFREDO (LA TRAVIATA - Saimir Pirgu - Herodesion 2019).
He has performed the roles of Luigi (IL TABARRO, Puccini) and Idomeneus in the homonymous opera of Mozart with the orchestra of ELS at Main Stage of K.P. Stavros Niarchos Foundation in the framework of the programme of GNO "The Youth of the Opera". He has also performed Don Jose (CARMEN, Bizet) with the Orchestra of the Municipality of Athens, main roles in operas by Greek composers such as G. Hadjinasiou (EL GREKO) by K. Moustakas (STAXOMAZOCHTRA) as well as oratorios and Requiems (Mozart, Brukner, Charpentier, Saint-Saens etc.) in places like the Athens Concert Hall, Herodesion, The Roof of Arts and Letters, Municipal Theatre of Piraeus, etc., as well as in Vasiliki of St. Peter's at Vatican. He has collaborated with orchestras such as MOZARTEUM Academy, ELS, ERT, Municipality of Athens, ELSON, with important orchestra conductors (Michelangelo Galeatti, Loukas Karytino, Dionysis Grammenos, George Petrou etc.) and directors (Graham Vick, Stefano Poda, Spyros Evangelatos, Themelis Glinatsis, etc.). Finally, he has sung live on Third Programme of ERT.
Eleni Komni
Soprano - was born in Thessaloniki and began her studies in music at an early age. She studied piano and theoretically at Macedonian Conservatory of Thessaloniki. The 2015 received the Diploma in Monody (class of Marialena Panagiotopoulou) with Excellent Unanimous while the 2016 acquired the Diploma in Melodrama from the Thessaloniki State Conservatory of Music (class of Akis Lalusi). The season 2017-2018 participated in the Young Artists Programme of National Opera of Greece. He then continued his studies at the Italian lyrical repertoire in musical institutions in Italy such as the Accademia Bel Canto Martina Franca and the Accademia Mascagni of Goldoni Theatre in Livorno.
He has sung in theatres such as the Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, the National Lyric Opera, the Teatro Goldoni di Livorno, the Teatro Giordano di Foggia, the Festival Valle d' Itria, etc. He has interpreted, among others, the roles of Contessa/Le nozze di Figaro, Donna Anna and Donna Elvira/Don Giovanni, Fiordiligi/Così fan tutte, Prima Dama/Il flauto magico, Suor Angelica/Suor Angelica, Idamante/Idomeneo, Nedda/Pagliacci, Adina/L' elisir d' amore, Micaela/Carmen, Cathleen/Riders to the sea, Filena/Gli amori d' Apollo e di Daphne, Noemie/Cendrillon. Soon she will debut her role Mimi/La Boheme at Festival Internazionale di Portofino.
He has collaborated with orchestra conductors (Donato Renzetti, Leone Maniera, Angelo Cavallaro, Germano Neri, Michalis Economou, Dionysis Grammenos, Vladimir Simeonidis, etc.), and has actively participated in masterclasses with artists such as Raina Kabaivanska, Anna Tomova-Sintow, Cheryl Studer, Barbara Frittoli, Roberto Servile, Daphne Evangelatou, etc.
Spyros Souladakis
Spyros Souladakis (pianist, music teacher) gives numerous piano concerts and chamber music in Greece and abroad. It is piano graduate (Excellent and 1st Prize, Piraeus Conservatory of the Piraeus Association) and a graduate of Royal College of Music of London. She has studied with John Blakely, Nigel Clayton, Marina Kooutouvalis and Ida Margaritis. Owns degrees in Fugue, Counterbalance and Harmony. He has participated and attended seminars with internationally renowned teachers and piano soloists (Paul Badura Skoda, Aleksandar Raichev, Pierre Boulez, Murray Perahia etc.) and has been distinguished in international competitions in Greece and abroad. His educational activities include, among others, the following theatrical performances, music workshops, choral festivals, in which it has taken over the artistic curator, the Composition ή arrangement of musical works, the orchestration, at the same time as his participation as pianist. From the 2004 to this day teaches piano and theoretically at schools and conservatories of Attica.
