The Moonlight Sonata

The Dance Theatre Group "Afενός kinuμαι", in collaboration with the Astronomical Society of Corfu, present the "Moonlight Sonata" by Yannis Ritsos, approaching it in a special way of their own. One of the most remarkable - perhaps the most beautiful but also deeply allegorical - poetic composition, the first of the seventeen of the "Fourth Dimension", which is transfigured by the melodic notes of Beethoven's Sonata.

"Spring evening. Large room of an old house. An old woman, dressed in black, talking to a young man. No light has been turned on. Through the two windows a relentless moonlight enters..."

Shadows, figures, sounds and notes, in the footsteps of the Moon and the soul.

Old age and its opposite, youth.

The loneliness and the fear of the end and the begging of a little bit of life deprived.

The bitterness of yesterday and the desperate ray of hope

Feelings, thoughts, memories, visions, illusions, in agony and sorrow, in endless anticipation, in the irrevocable desire to shake off decay, in fear of
