The Corfiot Stage presents for the summer of 2020 the humorous parody of vice, Maria the Pentagonist by Bost (1982), directed by Notas Darmanis, at the Savorgnan Bastion of the Old Fortress of Corfu, daily from Monday 17 to Wednesday 26 August at 21:15.

The playwright, painter, cartoonist and lyricist Mentis Bostanzoglou, known as Bost, is inspired by the popular legend of the historical figure of Maria Pentagiotissa and creates with his peculiar caustic way of writing a delightful comedy, satirizing the petty bourgeoisie, the catholicism, the semi-literacy and the xenomania of the Modern Greek. He also ridicules the nationalism of the right-wing parties, the institution of kingship, and the party of the Left to which he belonged.
