The Ionian Theatre again in Corfu.
The IONIO Theatre, faithful to its appointment with its friends, honoring the birthday of the
place, starts its performances from Corfu with the new, original, original
Comedy
by Peter Avgerinos
"WOMEN, the story of a statue when it falls
from its base, or the tail of the ass shall not drip."
It is the story of two sisters, Penelope and her older Sister
(both victims of brutal domestic violence due to the appetites of an authoritarian and
violent father), who meet after years, having written out paths of estrangement and
diametrically opposed to each other, in an attempt to heal the wounds and
the wounds. Today, however, the day of the unveiling of the statue of General
of their father, who, among other things, has been mayor for two years.

" ... In an old middle-class house with the frames of family photos
gape and mournfully cover the furniture, around a table that once
was a "hearth", the story of two of the most important
brothers. Women now in their mid-20s, both victims of domestic violence and with an ex
diametrically opposed routes and paths, meet again after years,
accepting(?) each other, to confess with self-sarcasm and humour the
their common purpose. Which is none other than vindication.
It is the day of the unveiling of the statue of their father's general. It is the
while the city comically invades their small apartment. To compose the
puzzle of their aspirations and innermost desires, exposing the misdirection
and the rage, the hatred, the hidden self, the hypocrisy, the dizziness of a whole
city and the inertia of a society in decline and confusion.
Our history is unfolding in a "sideways" way. And perhaps never "openly". However, the question
remains. What does it mean to be a "woman"? And what is her place in modern life?
What are the "limits" within which it operates? Who defines them? And how does a woman in the
nowadays "precipitates the rocks and tames the waves"?
