summer.
The long-awaited performance of the acclaimed director in a summer
tour. A modern and timely adaptation of the Sophoclean anti-war

The performance was presented with great success at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus
on August 5 & 6, as part of the Athens & Epidaurus Festival 2022 and
continues its tour in Athens and all over Greece.

The story
On the day after the Civil War in Thebes, the city's patrons celebrate the
victory, trying to erase from their memory the days of insecurity
and misery. The new ruler, Creon, joins the celebration in order to
consolidate his power by intimidating his fellow citizens with threats. ''Γιορτάζει''
and young Antigone; a feast of disobedience, illuminated by her enthusiasm
resistance to the political pragmatism of tyranny.
