Unripe Cherries by Michael Anthis | Corfu
Orpheus Cinema Corfu

Stathis and Fani live their seemingly quiet relationship in some corner of the Greek countryside. He a doctor and promising party official, she a development manager in early retirement to devote herself to her family and their 15-year-old daughter Maria. But behind the idyllic silence, a monster lurks. Maria behaves unconscionably, is absent from home at the most unlikely hours, smoking naked weed with her classmates in the school toilets. Videos of her in obscene poses are circulating on the internet. Her father manages to cover up any repercussions. But Maria doesn't give up. She insists. For some reason of her own, she seems to want everything she does to be known, until one night...
The monster begins to emerge. And as dark as it is, it emits a relentless light. A light as revealing as the little girl's drawings that make up the horrific background.
The winner of 4 state awards of the Ministry of Culture Michael Anthis,
puts together a shocking domestic violence thriller to tell us how...
