Sold out

The story begins with the birth of Saint Paisios, also known as Arsenios Eznepidis, in Farasa, Cappadocia. After the Treaty of Lausanne, young Arsenios' family is uprooted and takes the road of refuge to Greece. Little Arsenios grows up in Konitsa, Epirus, with his grandmother and mother, who pass on to him their deep faith in Christ and love for his fellow man. He grows up with the stories about St. Arsenios and the desire to follow the solitary life from an early age is stirred in him. In 1945 he enlisted in the army where he served as a radio operator. Upon his demobilization he visits Mount Athos. Soon, however, he returns to Konitsa for family reasons and remains there for three years. He finally departed for Mount Athos in March 1953 and ended up at the Monastery of Esfigmenos. After three years he finds himself in the Monastery of Filotheos, where he becomes a monk and takes the name Paisios. He sends a photo of himself to his mother in which he bids her farewell and tells her that he will have the Virgin Mary as his mother from now on.
For the first time on the big screen and with scenes that we have not seen on television, the story that touched deeply the hearts of millions of people and caused emotion throughout Greece.
