Empty Space | Corfu International Festival 2023

The choreographer Olympia Thanasoula with the Group d.OT. present the dance performance "EMPTY SPACE" in Corfu International Festival from Friday 20 October at 21:00 at Municipal Theatre of Corfu.

Η Olympia Thanasoula, opening the lights of her world, exposing us to a scene that is already in progress. She sketches the moment when man is confronted with his fears and his simultaneous inability to control what is happening.

The choreographer uses the "EMPTY SPACE" and gestures as choreographic tools to express the the emptiness that is created within us and in our interpersonal relationships after a great loss, because of the deep pain and the upheaval of our balance, and in between he lists the attempts to recover our powers and reconstruct our reality.

This void fluctuates repeatedly in our lives, forcing us to play with it and to fill it each time from the beginning, until we come to terms with this process and adapt to it,"like an endless vicious circle of creation and destruction".

The kinesiological research and the aim is for the dancers to move as a single organism/body but composed of smaller autonomous units.
