The Greek-British band returns to Corfu for another dynamic live show.<\/p>\n
Electric Litany's impressive artistic career begins in 2007 in the British capital. There, Alexandros Mearis and Richard Simic experimented with their musical influences in abandoned buildings and gave their first live performances in underground venues in East London. In 2010, the release of their first album, \"How to be a child and win the war\" welcomed us into their lo-fi post rock world. Their debut album received excellent reviews and set the scene for a major European tour alongside Interpol and Archive.<\/p>\n
The band works non-stop as its particular sound testifies, which gives room for musical experimentation to surface beyond the aforementioned influences. Balancing between a peculiar dark aesthetic they project their artistic vision through well-crafted videos, which highlights Electric Litany as one of the most interesting bands to emerge from London's esteemed scene in recent years. Alan Parsons, producer of The Beatles and Pink Floyd, sees in the Greek-British band the new Radiohead and collaborates with them for their second album, \"Enduring days you will overcome\". The mystical atmosphere blends uniquely with the seductive vocal lines of Alexandros Miriis and they proudly proclaim \"Enduring days you will overcome\" a worthy successor to their impressive first album. In 2014, just before their European tour, Pav Mav is added to the bass and with him the line up of the band is completed.<\/p>\n
The humanitarian crisis the world is experiencing is the inspiration for their third album, \"Under a common sky\". Drawing on memories of Miriam's homeland, Electric Litany create a dark, almost dystopian masterpiece that was rightly loved by fans and critics alike, and won Best Cinematography at the ECU European Independent Film Festival for the music video for the song Sealight.<\/p>\n
The band's social antennae always remained open as the release of the bootleg of 9 unreleased tracks, \"The Amniotic Tranquility of Being Indoors During a Thunderstorm\", which included a song dedicated to the memory of the murdered Zac Kostopoulos, proved. The video that accompanied the release of the song was also shocking, while Electric Litany offered his latest album for free, urging listeners to donate money to food banks and the fund for imprisoned and persecuted militants.<\/p>\n
During the Lockdown period the band returned to the historic Cable Street building where they lived and wrote \"Enduring days you will overcome\". A place historically charged by the 1936 Battle of Cable Street. In now familiar buildings, they worked over the two years and prepared new material and upcoming albums.<\/p>\n
At the same time they enter the studio and record a cinematic EP which will be released in Greece by InnerEar.<\/p>\n
But the focus is on the preparation of their 4th and heavier sounding album, the songs of which will be played in the upcoming concerts in our country.<\/p>\n
Also added to the lineup is Greek-British Jason Tsontilis, an electronic artist with several releases as a solo artist.<\/p>\n
