The iconic monologue by Loula Anagnostakis, directed and
\ndramaturgical adaptation by Eleni Parginou, comes to the Studio of
\nMunicipal Theatre of Corfu on 19 & 20 April 2024.
\nThe famous anti-heroine of Lula Anagnostaki meets a modern version of her. \u0397
\nEleni Parginou \"dives\" into the story of the protagonist, Sophia Apostolou, and
\ncomes to life on stage with her own eyes.
\nThe performance draws inspiration from the literary universe of Loula Anagnostakis and
\nwith the use of new media tells the story of Sophia Apostolou, the heroine of
\nof the play of the same name, which masterfully balances the author's libidinal dipoles.
\nSophia Apostolou seems to articulate between the collective and the personal, the
\nprivate and public, expectation and despair, between a past and a future, between the
\na present, a continuous in-out where one affects the essence of the other. A
\nperson-symbol of a personal\/collective wound trying to find the
\nits sequence in an unclear today.<\/p>\n
Director's Note:
\nIn the play Sky Red we meet one of the (anti-)heroines of
\nLoula Anagnostakis, Sophia Apostolou. In the story of the heroine we recognize
\npersonal frustration and collective denial. Rejecting a world,
\nwho has been the first to reject it, Sophia Apostolou through the history of social
\nher son's deviation, she raises the flag of an errant who puts himself
\noutside of the \"healthy\" and \"good-hearted\" society. In this \"outside\", the heroine will
\nrecognize its own nature, its own \"tendency towards evil\" and this \"outside\" will
\nfinally become the voice of its own revolution. The heroine's mnemonic process, in
\nour performance, acquires the function of a broken mirror that reflects the
\ninverted and fragmented its own history.
