\n\"Two women meet three times in a public laundry.
\nIn their meetings they talk about their children, about the educational
\nInternet documentary about the awesome power of Evolution. Yet
\nsoon the viewers learn about an Arena, for public
\nbeheading girls on live television for a boy who was
\npolishes his axe, for the fragrance of the pine that scents the
\nfreshly laundered clothes.
\nA dystopian thriller about mainstream eugenics - and the crimes of
\nof good people patiently waiting for the washing machine to finish
\nthem.\"
\nVox Nova's note for the performance:
\nThanasis Triaridis with this work manages to shock us and to
\nprofoundly reflect us, reminding us of the strong presence of the
\nNazi eugenic ideas in our society. The Laundromat focuses on
\nconflict between obedience to authority and our morality. What can
\nthat is, when one enters a situation in which the
\npersonal responsibility is transferred to the person giving the orders.
\nA Milgram experiment that is no longer an experiment.
\nA brutal and nightmarish story, as everyday stories are.<\/p>\n
