Some of the most popular arias and duets of beloved opera and operetta composers will be performed at the\u00a0Opera Gala<\/strong>\u00a0of\u00a0International Festival of Corfu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

On\u00a0Friday 27 October<\/strong>\u00a0at\u00a020:00<\/strong>\u00a0at\u00a0Municipal Theatre of Corfu<\/strong>\u00a0the soprano\u00a0Artemis Bogri<\/strong>\u00a0and the bass baritone\u00a0Angelos Chondrogiannis\u00a0<\/strong>will perform works by Mozart, Rossini, Bizet, Verdi, Gounod, Sakellaridis, while the piano will be accompanied by\u00a0Thanasis Apostolopoulos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

BIOGRAPHICAL DETAILS<\/strong><\/sub><\/p>\n

ARTEMIS BOGRI<\/strong>
\nShe was born in Athens and began her musical studies first at the\u00a0piano<\/strong>. Courses\u00a0classical singing<\/strong>\u00a0started in her classroom\u00a0Marina Krilovic<\/strong>\u00a0at\u00a0Athenaeum Conservatory<\/em>, where she received her diploma with a grade of Excellent Unanimous, First Prize, and a gold medal. She has attended her singing seminars\u00a0Daphne Evangelatos<\/strong>, of\u00a0Kostas Paschalis<\/strong>, of\u00a0Jeannette Pilou\u00a0<\/strong>and the\u00a0Mars Christofelli<\/strong>, with whom he continues the study of repertoire. He was an active member of the Opera Studio of the National Opera from 2009 to 2011.
\nHe has collaborated with the Athens State Orchestra, the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of Colours, the Orchestra of E.R.T., the Ergon Ensemble, the Hellenic Ensemble of Contemporary Music and the Camerata - Friends of Music Orchestra. In recent years he has been working closely with the composer\u00a0George Kurupos<\/strong>, giving concerts with him in Greece and abroad, while he has sung the first world premiere of his works \"The Tent of Miracles<\/em>“, “Voice of Oak<\/em>“, “Leoprella<\/em>\" and \"Elpis Patridos<\/em>\". He has repeatedly participated in productions of the National Opera of Greece.
\nHe appeared in the roles of the Composer (Ariadne in Naxos<\/em>), Rosina (The barber of Seville<\/em>), Angelina (Cinderella<\/em>), Dorabella (So do all<\/em>), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni<\/em>), Kerubino (The marriages of Figaro<\/em>), Stefano (Romeo and Juliet<\/em>), Prince Orlovsky (The Bat<\/em>), Mercedes (Carmen<\/em>). In 2021 he sang the homonymous role in the opera\u00a0Despo<\/em>\u00a0of\u00a0Paul Carrer<\/strong>\u00a0in the anniversary tribute for the 200 years of the Greek Revolution, while she has also appeared in the role of Euthymi Chira in a production of the Athens Concert Hall. She participated in the first world revival of the opera of\u00a0C.W. Gluck\u00a0<\/strong>“Il trionfo di Clelia<\/em>” (Royal Opera House-Linbury Studio<\/em>), and also in works of contemporary repertoire (a tribute to the 80th anniversary of the pioneering British composer\u00a0Peter Maxwell<\/strong>\u00a0Davies\u00a0<\/strong>(Icones- Miss Donnithorne's maggot, MMA<\/em>), “Madness<\/em>\" at the Athens Festival, singing the work of\u00a0Thomas Larcher\u00a0<\/strong>“My illness is the medicine I need<\/em>\", the 16 songs of\u00a0Nikos Skalkotas<\/strong>\u00a0in first run (M.M.A.), etc.). He is a graduate of the\u00a0Department of Economic Science, University of Piraeus<\/strong>.<\/sub><\/p>\n

ANGEL CHONDROGIANNIS<\/strong>
\nThe bass baritone\u00a0Angelos Chondrogiannis<\/strong>\u00a0was born in Corfu. He studied Higher Theoretical and\u00a0clarinet\u00a0<\/strong>at the Corfu Conservatory. Graduate of the\u00a0Athens Drama School<\/strong>. Study\u00a0classic song\u00a0<\/strong>with the internationally renowned baritone\u00a0Kostas Paschalis\u00a0<\/strong>and the\u00a0Irini Tsirakidou<\/strong>. Graduate of\u00a0Master of Music in Performance\u00a0<\/em>in high\u00a0School of Music W\u00fcrzburg<\/em>\u00a0in the classroom of\u00a0Cheryl Studer<\/strong>. Scholar of the Foundation\u00a0Wagner<\/em>\u00a0for the year 2015. He has collaborated with many orchestras and theatres in Greece and Germany such as E.L.S., Camerata, Opera of W\u00fcrzburg, Athens Concert Hall etc. He is a teacher of singing in conservatories and choirs.<\/sub><\/p>\n

THANASIS APOSTOLOPOULOS<\/strong>
\n\u039f\u00a0Thanasis Apostolopoulos\u00a0<\/strong>has performed in some of the most important European concert halls such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, the Philharmonie in Cologne, the Athens and Thessaloniki Concert halls, the Konzerthaus in Vienna, the BFM in Geneva, the Birmingham Symphony Hall or the Philharmonic Hall of Sofia, where he has been awarded a prize at the International Piano Competition \"Albert Roussel\".
\nStudy\u00a0piano\u00a0<\/strong>at\u00a0Athens Conservatory<\/strong>, from which he graduated in 1990 with a Soloist Diploma and First Prize unanimously, and then completed his studies at the Royal College of Music in London, Paris and Salzburg with scholarships from the Onassis Foundation, the British Council and the French Government. His teachers included\u00a0Ares Garoufalis<\/strong>, \u03b7\u00a0Irina Tsaritskaya<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0Germaine Mounier<\/strong>.
\nAs\u00a0soloist\u00a0<\/strong>has performed with the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, the Athens and Thessaloniki State Orchestras, the Hanover Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra of Colours, the Camerata - Orchestra of the Friends of Music, the Guerzenich Chamber Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Guerzenich, the Turin Philharmonic Orchestra, the ERT Symphony Orchestra, the Sinfonietta of Basel, the Symphony Orchestra of the Municipality of Athens, the Nash Ensemble, etc.\u03ac.
\nDividing his activity between recitals, chamber music concerts and collaborations with lyrical artists, he has performed in Greece and throughout Europe (England, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Poland, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland), in the USA and in the Middle East, with participation in international festivals in Greece and abroad (Athens, Nafplion, Patras, Festival Berlioz in France, Mozart Festival in the USA, etc.).
\nIt is also\u00a0doctoral candidate\u00a0<\/strong>at\u00a0Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering\u00a0<\/strong>at\u00a0National Technical University of Athens<\/strong>.
