Remembrance Night Rockfest | Corfu

The rock music festival that became an institution in Corfu, dedicated to the memory of Lefteris Doubou, celebrates this summer five years of presence in the cultural events of the island, presenting for the first time in Corfu together, three of the most important, most historic and at the same time most active bands of the Greek rock scene, Underground Currents, Magic de Spell, D.The legendary and so influential Rock scene of the 90s to the present day, in a BEST OF without stopping!With them, our own heavy rock-metallers Echelon.

In the festival area there will be a voluntary blood donation in memory of "Lefteris" by the blood donation department of the General Hospital of Corfu as well as a voluntary sample collection for bone marrow donation by the Corfu Volunteer Blood & Bone Marrow Donors Association "Pandotis".

UNDERGROUND CURRENTS

Year 1994, album "The Magician looks at the city", first track "I like not to say much" and so, unexpectedly, a group from Kallithea starts playing their music live to the audience and soon becomes known all over Greece. They are the Underground Currents.

30 years later, Underground Currents has an uninterrupted and rich journey. Eleven albums, dozens of collaborations with many Greek artists and creators in the studio and on stage, with a special moment in their hearts being their collaboration with Thanos Mikroutsikos, and thousands of concerts in Greece, Cyprus and Europe.

Fourteen musicians passed from the Underground Family, each one giving his own stamp that was imprinted in the history and evolution of the band. Most importantly, these musicians were and remain friends, proving that Underground Currents is not just a band but a living and multi-dimensional organization that is constantly changing its form throughout its years of existence. Always faithful to their musical and social principles, they prove in all ways that they remain one of the most important and topical bands of the Greek rock scene.

Since 2015 they operate as a trio, realizing one of the most classic and powerful rock band formations (bass-guitar-drums). Grigoris Klioumis, the longest standing member of Subgeia Flows, the voice and the soul of the band, Tasos Pippas on drums, with more than twenty years in the underground and Nikos Youssef who was a close friend of the group and has been on stage for more than ten years with his bass and his musical saw. This trio is one of the most consistent figures in the band's history, giving a different dynamic to both the creative aspect and the live performances.

Three experienced musicians, a legendary voice, a distinctive sound, dozens of favorite songs and an underground company that manages to constantly exceed its musical limits, creating the ultimate live atmosphere at every concert.

MAGIC DE SPELL

Magic de Spell, is the longest running, continuously present Greek rock band. They appeared in 1980 and in their first decade they played in music scenes and festivals, alongside legendary Greek and foreign acts.

Since the early 90's, they established themselves as exponents of Greek rock and guitar sound.

Their songs "Emena o tis fili mou" and "Sarajevo" emphatically represent two generations to this day.

They have four English and eight Greek albums, collaboration with JJ Burnel of the Stranglers, "tweaked" covers, movement songs, poetry settings and a large number of concerts in Greece, Cyprus and Europe.

They are coming to Corfu for a unique live show, representative of their long journey: "Nipson unlawful", "Mr Pantelis", "Holidays in Sarajevo", "My friends are my friends", "No more break", "When it gets dark", "Vietnam", "Progeny ate, what do you think?", "I am", up to the recent singles "As the souls leave" and "If you don't define you".

DEMETRIS MITSOTAKIS (IN DETAIL)

Thirteen albums, songs - stations, "Endelechia", personal journey, numerous digital singles, diverse collaborations and interactions, writings, lyrics, stories, interventions, legendary 90s - hard 20s.Thirty years of non-negotiable and uncompromising course, another journey that brings him on stage for a concert-celebration.

One of the most important productive and integral exponents of the contemporary music scene. The composer, lyricist and writer Dimitris Mitsotakis, best known for his band "Endelechia", which was one of the most influential and popular bands of the 90s, but also as one of the greatest rock lyricists and songwriters of his generation, presents a program based on his 30-year creative career.

With 14 albums and several independent online releases to his credit, starting from the era of "Voutia ot ψηλά", "I am not the one you want", "Ti sangi tou su πω", "Diamantineia pier", he passes through the newer quests of the Eudaimonic "If" and "Ask" and reaches his current personal journey expressed with his new digital singles, for which he collaborated with great contemporary performers and musicians (Martha Frindzila, Yannis Haroulis, Violeta Ikaris, Savveria Margiola, Caesar Kikis, Thrax Panks, Avgerini Gatsis) that you can listen to on his channel and are included in the two recent CDs released by Metronomo (Not all of us fit in 2020, Atheblob 2023).

A musical journey through the entirety of his musical work with stops at his most famous and popular songs.

ECHELON

The six-piece from Corfu having in their assets an album "Secret Power" 2022 and several live performances both in and outside Corfu, will appear for another year on the festival stage honoring the memory of their friend and band member Lefteris Doubou with their characteristic melodic and at the same time hard Rock-Metal sound.
