The show Legend comes to the D.P.E.T.E. Corfu, for 3 unique performances.

The performance, which was adored by thousands of spectators, who saw and saw again, all over Greece and abroad, about the life of the great sculptor Giannoulis Halepa, is coming to Corfu, in Studio Municipal Theatre , on Friday 30, Saturday 31 May and Sunday 1 June 2025 at 21.15, in its third year of success.

...a few words about the project....
Yiannoulis Chalepas was one of the greatest artists, whose works are admired and studied worldwide to this day. His life... simply fictional. Like something out of a horror movie, but with a happy ending.
The first years in Tinos, the studies abroad, the creative years in Athens in 1800, the awards, the international recognition... but also the confinement in the psychiatric hospital of Corfu for 14 years, the isolation and the strict supervision of his mother, his great love that was destined to mark his whole life... loneliness... pain... deprivation... some of the words that make up the life of this man.

Based on his cell in the Corfu psychiatric hospital, the performance of Angelos Andreopoulos' play, directed by Alexandros Liakopoulos, takes us on a journey through all the important milestones in the life of John or... Yiannoulis ( as his mother affectionately called him ) and gives us the magnitude of his intelligence and pain, both of himself and of all the artists who, over the centuries, were characterized as Salemenos ( Saloi ) but remained and remain engraved in our consciousness and memory.

A performance, not biographical, but purely psychological, for all those people, who the times they lived in, did not allow them to smile, but they continued to believe and create... until the moment they touched the Divine... and were not dazzled... but saw... and they are always there, to remind us of a phrase...
