Banda Entopica

Banda Entopica, the traditional street band based in Thessaloniki, unites clarinet, trumpet, accordion and dulcimer in a complex of traditional and modern Balkan music. Based on the sounds of Macedonia, Thrace, Epirus and the entire Balkan Peninsula, it moves to danceable and often ecstatic rhythms with traditional songs and original compositions. The band started its course from the streets of Thessaloniki, while then added numerous appearances in music venues of the city as well as in big festivals. In an environment where tradition is an integral part of everyday life - either as singing or dancing - every live performance of the band has a dynamic dimension with intense interaction between musicians and listeners,
while maintaining a unique aesthetic proposition. Traditional music works in a highly Dionysian way and gives people the opportunity to express emotions that they need so much.

In 2021 they released their first CD with the homonymous title "Banda Entopica" which includes mainly dances from the region of Macedonia as well as Thrace and Epirus.
