The Corfu Theatre Stage Conquers the 12th Panhellenic Festival with the Comedy 'TOC X 2' : Four Awards and Unprecedented Success!

The Corfiot Theatre Scene achieved another significant success at the 12th Panhellenic Amateur Theatre Festival of Ierapetra, which took place from 26 October to 2 November 2024. The theatre group of Corfu presented on the last day of the festival the comedy "TOC X 2", based on the play Toc Toc by Laurent Baffie, performed by Evangelia Gatsoti and directed by Nota Darmani. The clever, delightful and humorous performance won four awards and impressed with its high stage quality and artistic integrity.

The Panhellenic Theatre Festival, which is considered one of the most important institutions for amateur theatre in Greece, this year hosted 39 entries from theatre groups from all over the country. Of these, only seven were selected to compete, presenting works of varying thematic interest and different artistic approaches.
The Corfiot Theatre Stage, with its excellent presence at the 12th Panhellenic Amateur Theatre Festival in Ierapetra, managed to obtain important distinctions for the performance "TOC X 2", The awards include:
- Second Prize for Best Performance for the excellent direction of Nota Darmani.
- Award for Second Female Role, awarded equally to Harris Alatza for the role of Panagiota and Despina Gaglia for the role of Youlis in the show.
- Best Programme Award at Eleni Rikou for the preparation of the programme of the performance.
These distinctions underline the ongoing dedication of the Corfu Theatre Stage to the production of quality theatre and the artistic value of the group in the Greek theatre scene.

The performance "TOC X 2" impressed the audience with its endless lines, comic situations, conflicts and twists that followed one after the other. Six unique and complex characters, all suffering from OCD, find themselves trapped in obsessions and tics that define their lives. The plot unfolds through the spontaneous meeting of these people outside the psychologist's office, where they end up forming an informal psychotherapy group, sharing experiences and supporting each other with particular humor and understanding.
With the excellent direction of Notas Darmanis and the amazing performances of the actors, the performance delivered in a unique way the satire and humanity of the play, winning both the laughter and the emotion of the audience.
